Rotary Cubbonpark Trust and Bangalore Gastro Center Launch Groundbreaking Gastrointestinal Health Initiative in Karnataka

In a significant step towards improving healthcare accessibility in rural Karnataka, Rotary Cubbonpark Trust, in partnership with Bangalore Gastro Center, has launched a pioneering gastrointestinal health initiative. This project, valued at INR 3 crores, aims to provide state-of-the-art healthcare services to underserved populations across the state.
*A First-of-its-Kind Initiative*
With the support of Infosys Foundation and the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka, Rotary District 3191 has been provided with four specially designed vehicles to operate this project. RCP Trust made this mobile health unit readied with advanced diagnostic equipment, including endoscopes and colonoscopies, to screen patients for gastrointestinal issues.
*Bridging the Healthcare Gap*
The project primarily targets patients from rural backgrounds who face significant challenges in accessing quality healthcare due to geographical constraints and financial limitations. By bringing healthcare services to their doorstep, this initiative seeks to bridge the gap in healthcare accessibility and provide timely treatment to those in need.
*State-of-the-Art Facilities*
This mobile health unit is designed to provide a comfortable and conducive environment for patients. Each vehicle is equipped with:
- Advanced diagnostic equipment, including endoscopes and colonoscopies
- Doctor consulting room and patient examination room
- Registration and resting room for patients
- Ceiling air conditioners for patient comfort
- Backup generator and UPS system to ensure uninterrupted services

The project will be implemented in collaboration with Primary Health Centers (PHCs), local doctors, and Rotary clubs across Karnataka. Health camps will be organized in various locations, and patients will receive treatment and follow-up care as needed.
