BOS SUMMIT 2026 Draws Record Gathering of the Ophthalmic Fraternity
The BOS SUMMIT 2026, the flagship annual conference of the Bangalore Ophthalmic Society (BOS), concluded on a grand note with an overwhelming response from the ophthalmic community. Held on 1st and 2nd August 2026 at Ananthya Palace Grounds, Bengaluru, the summit witnessed the participation of a large number of ophthalmologists, postgraduate students, and eye care professionals from across Bangalore and beyond, making it one of the most successful editions of the conference.
One of the major highlights of the summit was the prestigious BOS Oration, delivered by renowned vitreoretinal surgeon Dr. A Giridhar of Giridhar Eye Institute, Kochi, who captivated the audience with his inspiring reflections on over 40 years of clinical excellence, innovation, and service in ophthalmology.
The conference was graced by the Chief Guest, Dr. I. B. Vijayalakshmi, India’s first woman paediatric cardiologist, whose thought-provoking address on the importance of the divine healing power in medicine deeply resonated with the audience. She emphasized that compassion, empathy, and humanity remain integral to delivering holistic patient care.
The Presidential Address by Dr. Sri Bhargava Natesh, President of the Bangalore Ophthalmic Society, highlighted the society’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, mentorship, and collaborative learning while reaffirming BOS’s vision of strengthening ophthalmic education and patient care.
The summit’s success was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the BOS Managing Committee, led by Dr. Sri Bhargava Natesh (President), along with Dr. Arun Samprathi (Vice President), Dr. Sandya Rajendra Prasad (Secretary), Dr. Anuradha A. (Joint Secretary), Dr. Priyank Solanki (Treasurer), Dr. Venkatasubramaniam G. (Academic Convener), and the Executive Committee members Dr. Hemalatha B. C., Dr. Karthik R. Meda, and Dr. Priyanka Singh, Dr Rajesh Parekh, Dr Sarika Ramachandran, Dr Sherina Thomas, Dr Sahana Ajjampur, Dr Thirumalesh MB and Dr Vineeta Pai Hegde whose meticulous planning ensured the seamless conduct of the conference.
